This blog is linked to myotherlimb.com, the official website of Eve Lloyd Photography.

I've been shooting for years as a hobbyist; got my first D-SLR in 2008; and since November 2011 have been an assistant and full-time photographer in Charlotte, NC.

My cameras are as follows:

Since the end of 2011, I have been shooting with my Nikon D3. I shoot with 14-24mm, 50mm prime, 18-55mm, 105mm prime, and 70-300mm lenses.

My D-SLR baby, acquired in 2008, is a Canon EOS 1000D SLR (Rebel, in the USA) that came with an 18-55mm lens. I also have a 50mm prime lens and a 75-300mm telephoto lens.

In November 2009, I bought a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC HX1 as a halfway point between a point-and-shoot compact and the full kit (geek bag and all) of my D-SLR cameras.

My point-and-shoot compact digital camera of choice is a usually a model from the Panasonic Lumix range. I bought a Tz10 in June 2011, and before that had an FS15, which in turn succeeded my FX33.

An Amazon list of some of my kit can be found here.

Photography Quotations

The camera doesn't make a bit of difference. All of them can record what you are seeing. But, you have to SEE.
~ Ernst Haas, Comment in workshop; 1985

To the complaint, 'There are no people in these photographs,' I respond, 'There are always two people: the photographer and the viewer.'

You don't take a photograph, you make it.
~ Ansel Adams

It's difficult to hold a camera and bath a rat.
~ Eve; 2009

As the camera clings to the common thread,
Beyond all vanity,
Into a gaze to shoot you through.
~ Elvis Costello & Diana Krall; 'Narrow Daylight'

A photograph is always invisible: it is not it that we see.
~ Roland Barthes

All worthy work is open to interpretations the author did not intend. Art isn't your pet - it's your kid. It grows up and talks back to you.
~ Joss Whedon
